Hey there chaps...

fishballdan... After reading your post i see it says "without" a queen.. Which means the workers ants you have will pretty much not eat anything.. maybe some sugar worker.. they have no reason to live.. so have no need for proteins which they would only feed to the queen and the larvae...

If you want to bring up a colony of ants i suggest you get yourself a new colony with a queen as a queen is the only one that can lay eggs and make your colony larger.

i have now got a L asius niger colony with a queen and they are doing fine.
