hi all i am thinking of getting a colony of Formica sanguinea.
i am thinking of putting them in some y-tong in side a XL 3Ox2Ox6
so it fits perfectly would that work?
and attach that to a 3Ox2Ox2O basin
got any tips

Setup seems fine. You know these ants are better kept with slaves ?

They use other species as there slaves, yes. ;) (example Formica fusca ) read up about them a bit on the net. they are nice ants. ;)

thanks i was also thinking of getting F ormica rufibarbarus for slaves which would be in a y-tong attached to the 3Ox2Ox2O basin
would this work or should i get F ormica fusca which would be more expensive.

I think it will work, i myself use Formica fusca and the two farms are not conected to each other. In warm days the Formica fusca bring there brood in the open air and than i steal a few and put them in the other farm. ;)

so it will work :wink: that is very clever but if the colony is small i may not be able to take an brood
so what do you think oh year i'am coming to berlin this wednesday to see antsore and might bring back some tools and mabe a tank :D
