Had my C amponotus ligniperda queen in her antstore 40 by 30 by 20 tank . filled up with some humus then shoe moved out her tube and took her brood to under a peice of humus wasnt enough to bury herself really . one of the workers and only worker got out when a bird flew in my room and opened the nest - now i added more humus so she can bury herself properly and all she seems to do is sit on the top in the corner
this doesnt seem very normal
the worker didn't come back?
think the bird might of ate it
Thats some serious bad luck.. this is why small colonies should always be kept in a test tube...
was in a proper ant store farm lol- last thing i expected was a bird to fly in and open it up lol
she has 7 brood but shes not with them
Well i wouldnt expect a bird to fly in lol.. seems a tad weird thing for it to do lol
Try giving her some cricket, or spider or something.. hopefully she will come back.
My ligniperda queen took a few months before i had first workers. And now i think i have had them for a good year and still i dont think i have many more than 20. They are very slow to develop. Good luck anyways bud :)
Ok ill leave her too it she has honey and crickets chopped for her all the time -
only reason i knew bird come in was because i had feathers everywhere they live in the tree 10metres from my window
