if they dont need protien for egg production or brood development, for eg because they have enough stored already, then they wont eat, dont worry :)

well my Camponotus l igniperda kill everything as well, but after that they take it to the nest and leave the remains in the chambers and the colony feeds on it over time :D So if there doing that there still getting the food they need.

well i hear mixed issues with Ligniperda. Some ppl say they eat nonstop and are very actice. Others say they dont eat at all.. Well i think it depends on the colony size maybe. if there smaller they might stay in the nest. Also if there disturbed to often, they could think they are not safe and never come out. When i first got mine they never left the nest i had them in. But once i made them a large cork nest with a small heating pad under part of it, they changed there attitude. queen starting laying eggs very fast and they were takin in a lot of food. Started with 15 ants and in a few months there at 36. So i think it could be a couple things. 1. temp. 2. dont like there nest. 3. need to be not bothered in there new home for a bit so they can get used to it. I wish you luck though guys
