Rather confusingly all 9 of the ants have taken up residence inside the connecting tube between the out-world and the habitat, they've also blocked the out-world side with pebbles. Thoughts anyone?

The pupae looks very dried out and dessicated compared to pictures I've seen online, is this a problem? Can I help them sort it out?
