Which sand ? These ants are harder to keep than everyone thinks, they grow slow so every mistake could be meaning the end of your colony (for small colonies).

now a queen alone but as soon as the last worker died all the brood has started groing and now three big larvea and one cocoon

Lewis, I don't think it would be because of the sand. Sometimes it's just the stress of travelling that causes workers to die.

hello, sand is for sure ok for these ants, youv seen my thread mine are on silver sand and bird sand mix.....

how are they doing?

they are a fascinating spec to watch grow.....i think i have managed to gain much experience with them cuz they are the only spec colony i keep, im coming into my third year with them....im going up the loft to check on them now, il post some pix up so check my thread in a while :)
