M.Marshall: Aphaenogaster senilis Colony (16. Mai 2008 17:27)

Hello, This colony was acquired on the 14th of May 2008. The colony contains around 100-150 workers and a good amount of brood.

The colony has currently nested in a toilet roll tube slightly submerge in the sand and both ends blocked up with the colony in the middle.

Here’s a picture of the entrance to the nest:

The colony has been very fierce and quick to get food, the colony has already consumed: A harvestman, small fly, a mealworm and a bluebottle fly.
