SirJet: Ant Formicarium (10. Aug 2008 11:20)

Hi all,

Some time over night my colony of Myrmica r uginodis moved out of thier test tube and into the ant farm :)

I've since connected thier forging tank and supplied food and water.

lol, it was the wife's cat, and she wasn't happy when she saw it. I think it looks good :grin:

The ants are all inside the farm itself and have barracaded themselves in the tunnel i made for them. I assume they will come out when they get hungry or need water. I've added a cricket to the menu but it will probably start to go mouldy if they don't get down there soon.

When the colony gets larger, I intend to buy a larger foraging tank and maybe another nesting box / tank.

Looks very good. Good job. Don't forget to feed them sweets to, this species love sweets.
