ProXi: Building a nest in the basin (4. Dez 2010 19:04)

Hello,

Can somebody explain how to build a nest like in this video?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9u-n0vGwkFo
How does it fit so well?
Because there's seems to be no space between the nest and the glass.

By pooring plaster in the basin. And when it has dried you can get the plaster-block out and carve the chambers in it. If you dont want to use that much plaster you can use a core of ytong maybe.

Actually, the user says in other another video's description that it is ytong. If you look close, it it appears that he used a faux granite print of contact paper (cupboard lining paper with an adhesive backing) on the outside of the glass. It was then cut to mask only the edges of the uneven ytong and probably any glue or sealant. He put a lot of attention to detail into his nest. It looks great!

derangerous is right. You can see that its a print over the glass from the outside that makes it look perfekt. But Still, this is only a ytong , its not so hard to get it that flat to the Glass , and i think its only on this side of the basin. Behind the Ytong there should be about 80% empty space. Very many people do this to make the basin very low weight. The Arena floor is just a "roof".
