I went to a forest about 3 kilometers from where i live and took some photos of formica ant hills.
Here i went up: (if you could zoom in you would see my way up)

The route i used was about 20 m high and very steep + sand made me flip once when i came down.
behind the other side of the road
Hope you like them :)
Very nice Kale, Im supprised you could get near enough to the nest to take pics that close. When i went to the forest around here by the time i was like 10' away from the nest the floor was swarming and ants where already starting to attack me lol
It starts to get rather cool around here (yesterday about 14 Celsius) so that deacreases their movement, but they did try to attack me.
Very nice pictures man. I wish there where some anthills like that here. :)
Thanks. Lol, here you cannot find an area of 100m*100m without one anthill :)
They usually destroy other species at a radius of tens of metres from their own nest.
Me and Mpir were today in nature so we saw these ones too :) , here are my photos :D rofl , his photos will be here in some hours (he is on the way to home now :P )
where did you taken this picture???If you go to the point "help to identify" I posted a picture of a nest and the same ants..I took that picture in the Italian Alps.
What cameras are you both using Skippy?

photos were taken 5km from Bratislava (slovakia) on one secret place
