Indica: The ... Ant (29. Jan 2008 19:17)

Hi :)
I would like to see pictures of the most extreme ants. The weirdest looking ant, the coolest looking ant, the biggest ants, ants with weirdest habits... anything like it.

I would like to post some myself, but I don't know a lot about different species. I know nothing really, so I can't tell which are the "extreme ants" :)

This is not really about an extreme Ant, but about a "zombie" fungus which can control an ants-brain!

Next is Cordyceps, a fungus that can control bugs’ brains. Insects infected with Cordyceps have an uncontrollable urge to climb high up a plant and clamp their jaws tight. The fungus then eats their brain and sporulates out of their head. You really MUST watch this video for the time-lapse zombie-fungus-brain-eating sequences.

Actually tried it. All I get is bunch of ants with pretty regular look, a whole lot of pointless pictures, and some photoshoped ants.. like "Antelephant" or something like that..

Plus, I want to see what actual professionals and enthusiasts think. Google is just kinda.. you know, machine.

What the..
This is one of these things that are gross and kinda cool at the same time... like zombies.
So, some 'plant' is smart enough to control someones brain? I think a lot of politicians have those..
