These larvae looks good ,they are pretty big ,I think they will be cocoons sometimes this week (maybe at Monday ;) )

My eggs are a dark yellow now - about 10 to 12 eggs per Queen in the test tubes.
The test tube set up has the one end with water then cotton for moisture. You don't think they are drying out do you?
There is still a good amount of water in the test tube blocked with cotton. The Queens are always picking at it so I'm not sure it they are trying to get more moisture.
4mykids, I've never had a problem with cotton except for occasional mold, Synthetic cotton takes care of that pretty well though, as long as theirs water in the water part of the test tube, they are good.
Lovely Queen. Ants are such a work of art.
Most of the time the water don't dry out before workers arrive, if it dry's out than, you can give them a new tube and the workers will move the brood and queen to the new (wet) tube.
This queen has already 2 workers now (will post pictures soon.)
In deed Bob ants are one of the nice animals. ;)
