After exhausting every possible concrete supplier here - I can tell you that you can't buy this material in the US. I have looked up a few ways to duplicate this with pretty good results.
I used a ratio of 50% Plaster of Paris and 50% Perlite.
Makes a nice light weight material and holds water REALLY nice : )
Easy to cut as well.
I'll let you know how they like it as soon as I can get some time.
Thanks 4mykids
We are ready on your experience ;) ,maybe you will to find better material like is ytong :)

Hi 4mykids. if it is possible post some pictures.
Good job, hope it works out for the ants to. ;)
I wanna to try make material like you 4mykids ,but I would to get to the mix some colours - when I will have , for example: Lasius flavus ,it can be nice in ,also for example: in black material ,or somethink like that. Everyone have white ytong ,but why? It is possible to get colors to your mixture? Because ,on white material is easy to see dirt ,on black it is maybe better. It can be good topic with experience of build formicariums. But now we must wait for some pictures of your material 4mykids ;) ,if it is possible :)
Thanks
Skippy
I tried to color one off my y-tongs. it was nice but it takes to much time. i colored it with a mix of loam and water. that way there is no harm done for the ants.
I need eight days in a week to get anything done here -
I'll keep you in the loop and pics will come when I find the time - sorry.
