Really great pictures Phasmid. Looks like your ants are doing great. What are you feeding your Acromyrmex .

Thanks :) .I feed my Acromyrmex just about anything that comes from plants (I like to give a variety of food), but at the moment their favorite are rose leaves. They quickly get bored of the same food plant though, apparently this is a natural thing so that they don’t wipe out all of the plants in their area, so it will be something else soon.

hi Phasmid what are you feeding your ligniperda?
and what set up are they in, Y-tong?
because what ever it is ,they are doing great

Phasmid: Re: My ants. (31. Mär 2009 17:09)

Hi, I feed them most insects and sugar water.
They are in an aerated concrete block which I keep damp by just spraying water onto it, there is also a heat mat under part of it.

do M essor barbarus eat insects?

Zagone: Re: My ants. (4. Apr 2009 02:53)

Yes they do, and actaully require it as far as I know. However they'd rather chomp down allready dead insects rather than killing them themselves. Atleast in my experience.

Which reminds me I need to find some chow for my M. minors. :/

Phasmid: Re: My ants. (4. Apr 2009 12:08)

Yes, Messor love insects just like most other ants do. Boiled roach seems to be a favorite at the moment for mine, good job too as I have plenty :) .

Phasmid: Re: My ants. (2. Mai 2009 20:53)
