Camponotus herculeanus colony, in the pic about 39 ants (incl. queen) and in the tube leading to the out world there were 11 ants. So that makes ~50 ants. I'm happy since this colony's queen is only 1 year old.

ive never kept messor barbarus before but doesnt that seem like there are way to many seeds in there?
They store most of there seeds first before they make ant brood out of it.
My colony (you can find pictures of it in the dutch part of the forum) have about 3 rooms where they put there seeds. I only give them new seeds if one of them is almost empty.
