yes i have friends on a different forum who have started with a exotic species such as messor barbarus and have killed an innocent colony.
i would never want that to happen

see some of the views you have i think of a formica colony in a ytong i will not be able to do because as soon as i uncover the test tube my formica fusca colony is in the queen goes mental including the workers :)

Yes ,Formica species are very sensitive on light. I have my ants in half dark ,so they are not much stressed when I go to making photos ,because they are a bit ready to slow light ;) and they continue in normal colony activities :)

Hehe ,yes it is Lasius niger :lol: :lol: :lol: ,it is for my friends - beginners for free ;) . Yes I like my Camponotus blandus ,she has 4 cocoons now and 6-7 larvae and some new eggs :) ,so I am happy ;)
