It's looking terrific congrats. And thanks for the pics. Do you have a way of holding the glass on top or do you just let it rest. Also the water that absorbs into the nest from the tray below, how does it get distributed in terms of moisture areas. From what it looks like, part of the nest would be moist while the parts further away from the tray of water would be dry? How do you manage universal moisture in the nest? Also do you use any kind of heating? By the way don't plaster nests have a tendency to slow(though eventually) pulverize? or does the perlite help make it more sturdy in that regard? Also do you think your mixture of $50 percent plaster and 50% perlite works as well as the ytong material that europeans here swear by? Do give your insight on that if you would. I think some questions are for me ,some are for 4mykids. So ,my English is very slow ,so I cannot write it like I mean it :( . If you have ytong nest ,it is the best ,if you getting moisture only on part of the nest - like on picture ,because ants have larvae,eggs and cocoons. Larvae and eggs are in wet part and cocoons in dry part of nest. And now you must understand ,why I getting water only under part of ytong.
Heating - in my room is 28´C ,so it is not problem for exotic ants ,it is only good ,and I must not using special single heating system ,which are expensive - it is cheaper to heat all room ,when you have in home sometimes 50+ queens/colonies :) ;)

Ahoj skippy.Ja si také myslím že je to F.rufibarbis.Fuska to neni matku má leskle černou a dělnice jsou jednobarevné.F.rufib.má hnízda věšinou na loukách a jiných otevřených prostranstvích v zemy s hliněnou nadstavbou.Používal sem je na adopci P.rupescens.

no tento problem uz je sice davno vyrieseny ale diki za odpoved ;) , ako si sam napisal , este si za PC malo , tak tam nad spravou je taky datum a cas kedy bola sprava poslana ... myslim (nepozeral som sa) ze povodny post som poslal niekedy v maji minuleho roku takze odvtedy som nabral skusenosti a Formicu rufi vlastnim docasne i teraz.
Ja tiez pouzivam rufinu na odchov Polyergusu ;)
