What do you mean Skippy ? Is the queen dead ? If you 'boost' a colony with cocoons the workers that come out are not going to kill the queen, they will accept her like there one.
I don´t know ,when you get 10 campo spec. else to one queen of campo. ,I don´t want what will happen ,because it will look stupid...maybe no ,but I don´t know ,we must to try it and get it to experience with exotic/european ants.

My Ectatomma ruidum queen from Argentina, i have here now for almost 6 moths and this is the only cocoon she has (with a little larva and 2 eggs) I'm starting to think she is not fertilized and she is going to produce a male. (the cocoon looks big for a worker)
Camponotus blandus with eggs and very small larvae (cannot see on photos)
Hey skippy looks like she is doing just fine. I'm glad. ;)
sorry to hear about your queen jimmy like you said she might not be fertile but there is a chance she is, but she looks well for being there for 6 months on her own :)
