what do you all reckon?
Looking really good jimjam. You can post up to 8 pictures into one post. That way you don't need to always post a new message.
Looks nice Ratgreen, i will use that tutorial if i may. ;)
yer sure JimmyVe, no problem.
nice setup man, i like the grass in the foraging tank. how do you plan on stopping the ants moving into the tank, because you never know if they are going to move.
Well the sand in the foraging tank is kept very dry and they dont seem to intrested in that part of the set up. And to tell you the truth if they did decide to move in there and were happy and healthy then i would not mind. I have also added a couple of wood lice in there to make it more intresting!! Looking to get messor barbarus next! plus i have just ordered a new sony slr camera!! :D
good to hear, yer i have some messors but i got them from just a queen, and it takes a while for a colony to get going so get workers with yours if your get them, its just a lot easier
Yeah very true...what set up are you keeping them in? I have attempted a y-tong and well it didnt turn out all that great. lol ](*,)
er still in test tube, just checked them now and one of the larvae has turned into the first pupae, yay, once there is about 10 workers i will move into ytong or plaster nest.
Ahh i see, i think i will have a go at making a y-tong again!! Messors sound very intresting!
Jimjam.. A word of advise.. do NOT keep the ants on your window sill.. they will fry in the sun and all die. Keep them out of direct sun contact. And i am speaking from experience.. i lost a whole colony keeping mine on a window sil :( and that window only got sun in the morning.
If of course u only put them there to take the pic.. then hey sorry lol :P
my messors are 15 to 20 strong now (had them since there was a queen and 4 workers) and they will not move into the ytong, little buggers i guess they will go when they are ready, should be soon they are growing really really fast now
