The narator must be crazy sticking his head so close to the column!!
great vids of the ants, but that narator bores me to sleep so drouzy in-he.he's a bit mental put his face virtually right on them.anyway it is not about him its about the ants. but they should of got someone better to it, i dont know maybe someone like david attenbrough even though he is quite old now :(
lol oh my god, i enjoy keeing ants but army ants...lets just say i will let one of you guys try and keep them! Impossible to do!
i doubt its impossible, just highly unlikely, you would have to have a HUGE set up, and tonnes of other insects every day, about 10000 they go through a day i think !!!!! and they move home every month or so.
ROFL.. so ud need like.. A whole garden.. Would be ok if ur back garden was in the amazon ;)
'Location location location' for the Ants hahahaha
army ants have been kept in captivity before by a zoo or science lab in new york they went out to the amazon and use specially adapted hovers to collect a colony of army ants and take them back to America.
the colony only survived a month because they need lots of room to move and feed, but if enough space was available then it might be possible.
the tank they kept them in was like the size of a house.

:O
Wow, loved it! Cannot wait till I can get may hands on Pheidologeton diversus, as I think they can do a simmilar thing once the colony gets big enough (need a HUGE tank lol), but maybe with smaller pray, like a day old chick or pinky.
Haha nice vid, they ate the poor thing quick. I've once put a dead bird in a Formica Rufa anthill and checked every ½ h and it took less than 5 hours and the bird was eaten.
