ive given up on them movin jimmy ive put them bag half onto the heat mat now.. hopefully that will help them.. they can move in there own time now.. i wont rush them.
Well i hope they move soon. ;) Good luck.
Í'm back :) ..
I've moved my nest back to the original place, that gave the normal stress (queen almost running into the outside world and workers running to nowhere).
The brood is really big atm, it looks like they'll be all Majors (i guess that's becouse i'm used to L.Niger :roll: , i know i'll have to wait a "little" more before the majors hatch).
I don't see any cocoons yet, but when i see the size of the larva there will be soon 5 cocoons (i hope :D , double the nest)
I hope the first workers hatch soon :D .
Nice to hear that Thomie. Good luck with them. :)
Hello all.

Here I m showing a video of Skippy´s Messor muticus polygyn colony with two queens! We was on teraristic market together and I coudn´t tear my eyes from this nice formicarium(made and colored by Skippy) and from ants...
It´s a pitty than we can´t see a queens very well on a video, my camera needed more light....
hehe , my ants , when did you catch this video on camera? I´ve not seen you ... , yes pitty there are not queens to see :( , probably I´ll must take same photos of them myself
@messorus
Just a tip for you future video: It is always great to see the big picture, you know, zoom out and show the whole thing. The whole nest and also the arena. I kinda miss this in your video.
Kewl video tho.. Hope my messors grow to that size soon ;)
;) .
My colony have 30 workers at the moment, i think i found the good temperature etc.. :D .
I think i'm going to give them a outer world with light soon (at the moment the whole nest and outer world is in a heated box).
The colony don't have any majors yet :( , but i guess they'll find solution soon :wink:
I check on my Messor barbarus colony every day and its fine. I do turn down the lights first thought so they don't get a load of bright light. My colony started with no workers and is now about 10 workers. They do grow fast.
