Welcom to forum.

Queen has wings! You might have a problem. Usually this means that the queen is not mated and will not produce workers. Only drones.

And usually only by photo it is imposible to determin exact species.

Happy ant-keeping anyway

Yes, I was decided to kill her in the alcohol, but than I saw egg! It is funny, I thought, than first workers will be tasting to take them off, and yes, they was doing it. But it´s now all right, the colony is very good.

Hi Messorus and welcome,

A few questions if i may. Did you capture the queens yourself ? ore buy/trade it with someone. Like mpir said, queens with wings ore more likely not to start a colony, but this one already has workers. So are the workers produced by this queen ore not...

And if it is possible post some better pictures. ;)

Greetings

yes it is possible ;) ... I also had this queen in home ,then it came to Messorus ... she layed some eggs and I also tought she is not fertiled ,but he wrote me then ,she has cocoons  ...

...it is true no more ;)

some queens dont remove there wings for some reason although they are fertilized so there is a slime chance that your queen may be fertile but more likely not, and if the queen does keep her wings then the workers usually chew them off.

Jimy: Yes, I captured her myself, it was 16th of June, about 20 o´clock on Malta island.... Workers are her, I will add here a photo of her and cocons...
Sithmaster676:I first thought, than she isn´t fertile, but some days after, Skippy saw her first egg! Other queens of this campo wasn´t fertile and have no eggs...

JimmyVe: (9. Okt 2007 15:59)

If the workers are from this queen she is fertilized.

Okay post some pictures, and if possible better pictures of the queen and workers to.
