Arcais: Camponotus anthrax? (12. Jul 2007 19:50)

These guys are in my backyard. Looking the california guide, I think they are camponotus anthrax:

Could you make better pictures?
A few tipps:
- fotograph the ants outside, sunlight should be the moderate.
-Try to take a foto from one side, so one can see the ants profile. When you dip a little bit of honey on smth. wher you wanna fotograph them they will rest calm, cause of the honey, so you can take better fotos.

It already looks like the species is really anthrax, but you can't really be sure to identivy ants just from these pictures.

Hmmmm looks about right, try a shot of it uncurled though, that would really help.

I can't even find the next for these guys. Probably in the neighbor's yard.
