Hi

I think its a Camponotus Queen, but I´m not sure if its herculeanus or ligniperda or some other spezies.

o by the way, i found them in the mountains of california... if their location helps in their classification...

well, i found em in the mountains of California in the US. big bear mountain. temperate climate i guess. it was somewhere in between 20 and 30 degrees celcius. it was a forested area and the soil was pretty dark and moist. i found em under a piece of firewood. is there any other info that would help?

those are the pics at higher resolutions. they look shiny, and they have little white hairs over their bodies, including their butts, if that was 'gaster' is haha... and in the pics their legs and atennae look redish, although without the camera, they look pretty black to me. anything else that'd help narrow down the classification?
