Hello everyone i would like to say that i am new to this forum i am from serbia my name is david im 16 years old i speak a bit TARZAN - GERMAN its like me david wie heist du and so on :) not a really good german speaker but i know a few things ;) so here is the problem i have 12 lasius niger queens and 2 formica queens i know they are formica because i have experience with ants but not that much i have 2 formicas that i accidentaly founded on the street lucky me i always carrie my tube with me so i picked them up.. i found 3 of the same but the 3 one died so i took an advantage to shoot some photos and i would like to say that my dad is in germany at the moment so he will pick up some herceleanus for me and ligniperda of the camponotus species i had vagus last year but 2 queens i had died cuz of my mistake .... Hello and welcome to the forum.
I hope you don't mind my saying this, but on your pictures the queen looks rather dead with the crouched position and crumped legs and all... Hope it's just an impression from the pics and your ants are doing fine.

I had 3 of these this one died i still have 2 left the oldest one has lots of eggs and small larvae :)
Do u have an idea what species of formica is this? :) i took the dead one to picture because it doesnt move and i dont wanna stress the alive queens at work :)
Since I am a novice to antkeeping myself, I lack the knowledge to identify the species...
How do you keep the other queens / colonies? Got some pics?
