Andrew: Ant Queen don't know of course (16. Jul 2009 16:22)

I captured her July 4th and she has laid a nice little pile of eggs.

Very hard to say, pictures are not that clear. My first guess would be a Camponotus species.

Andrew: Re: Ant Queen don't know of course (17. Jul 2009 15:21)

She is approximately 6.35mm long and i found her on the back of my father's trailer in the middle of Kansas.

6.35mm hm, that is to small for a Camponotus species. Mabey a Solenopsis but now i'm more guessing on the size you give than on the pictures.

Ok that is what i thought, someone suggested that it was a Pheidole

damondeionno: Re: Ant Queen don't know of course (21. Jul 2009 08:49)

My first thought was Pheidole, or maybe Solenopsis. Perhaps we should place some bets?

Alright, we shall, when the ants are born, ill be able to tell you what they are

donbilbo: Re: Ant Queen don't know of course (21. Jul 2009 15:21)

Well i have some Pheidole as well as Solenopsis and i can only ask for a decent picture to identify. Your pics hardly show any features....

Andrew: Re: Ant Queen don't know of course (22. Jul 2009 04:17)
