I'm not so sure about that, if they find a place where it is a bit warmer than it is outside, like a cellar, they could survive. IT are really tough ants.

It's true that they might survive inside, but I think that would effectively contain them and they would not be so difficult to eradicate. Even Monomorium pharaonis which reproduces by budding and is very tiny so difficult to locate and destroy is not a real problem in the UK.

i am pretty sure fire ants culd surivive our winters, espcially considering they are getting milder every year (except this year, due to el nino)

an I would definitly expect them to be able to surive in cornwall, or in cities like london, where it very rarly goes below 0
