Well its been another day and was going to remove that cricket that i had placed in the tube, when i did not see it so i looked up near the cotton wool with water and see guts all over the wool, looks like she mauled it! so i have no idea how to remove guts of a cricket from the wet wool on the other end without hurting or disturbing her and the Larvae.
Any ideas? :?
Try moving her into another tube. It's risky but leaving her there is risky too. Or maybe just put another tube next to this one and they might move by themselves.
That indeed is difficult. ;)
If it is possible you better take it out (with a tweezer or something) but if it is not maybe you better leave it there, if you place the tube in the out world place another tube close to this one, so if they like they can move, if the cotton is starting to mould.
Yes i had thought of this before but their is just one problem....i only have 1 tube and i was lucky to get that off my sceince teacher at school, i have looked around where to get one but had no luck, so im waiting till some appear on the australian Ebay.
;) normally you can buy them at your local drugstore.
hi
i have found that certain types of species will gladly move tubes IF it is bigger than the original tube as they like space to expand the colony :)

I have decided to wait for tomorrow and use a pair of tweaser at the place i volunteer they have some long thin ones hopefully i can scrape the guts of the cotton with that
Be careful not to get the queen or larvae, maybe you could put the queen to sleep [ Tube in the refigerator for 10 mins] becasuse she may get in the way or even attack the tweeezers defending her nest and brood.
