Keep this in mind. Fire ants are dangerous and better not let them out in nature, but that is for all species you import from out of your country, not only for Fire ants. If you like keeping them be sure what you are starting with, they sting is very painful and could cause dead.

I found a Fire Ant in my garden. I made the mistake of letting it free, mainly because of the lack of containers.
you found a fireant in ur garden in Kent? are you sure? they are easy to confuse with other ants, and generally take allot of experience to correctly identify...
It gave me a nasty sting. Still got the lump on my hand. I picked her up you see and placed her on my hand. She stay in the same place and then she bit me and then stung the palm of my hand.
the same happened with me, she tried to sting me repeatedly, had a big stinger on her !
Look at this, if your hand looks like the guys leg it could be a sting of a fire ant. The say it hurts for about 24 hours. A burning feeling. Didn't know they live in England.
Yeah I do, thats whats confused me.
