Yea its probably a Camponotus species unknown [sub]species to me :D i dont know ants from Brazil exept Paraponera clavata
That surley isn´t Camponotus vagus. Camponotus vagus wouldn´t even be able to survive in Brazil.
That is some Camponotus species, it is very hard to tell which one since Camponotus from any continent but Europe are very hard to identify.
Also the queen does not exactly look like Camponotus vagus. The queen is to fat and does not have the stature of a Camponotus vagus queen wich are pretty long.
Why are you always saying subspecies?
That is the complete wrong context here. The subspecies is something more exact than the species.
For example Camponotus japonicus aterrimusm is the subspecies of aterrimus within the species of Camponotus japonicus in the genus Camponotus.
So the right word in the context here is species and not subspecies since the subspecies is extremly hard to identify.
I will correct it in your posts.
Yes thank you for correcting me yea i didnt say it looks exactly like vagus just a comparison so if its a bit similar i could tell him atleast something :) tnx for correcting me again !! No harm done, just people learning :)
I need to get a better camera for close ups. You would not believe the number of different kinds of ant we have here. Even Odontomachus I saw on sunday.
