Hi there,i was hopeing someone could tell me what species this is.I think it maybe solenopsis sp but not sure

miszt: (21. Mär 2008 02:42)

Some kind of Solenopsis i think to, or possibly phiedole, hard to say without a good side shot and face shot, where did you find her?

pyper: (21. Mär 2008 03:23)

shes from Israel,my friend caught her.

mzfckr: (21. Mär 2008 09:35)

try to make workers.then you could more easily tell what species you got.

I'd also say it's Solenopsis (looks very similar to my S. fugax, but definitely it's not the same species). We aren't familiar with ants of that region, so exact identification probably will not be possible there, even with workers.

ratgreen: (21. Mär 2008 14:03)

how did you get her back to the UK?

pyper: (21. Mär 2008 14:34)

I ve not received her yet.Waiting untill she has her first workers then she will be sent to me throw the post.

Sphecomyrmex: (21. Mär 2008 14:44)

I think that she's a Solenopsis, but she may be an other Myrmicinae too, like Tetramorium...It's difficult identification her, have you another photos?

pyper: (21. Mär 2008 15:20)

I dont have any more photos #-o
