Just wondering Miszt.. but would the well still work if i had the bloack laid flat?? Actually i want 2 wells like you said before i think.. Or do u think 1 would be ok lol Sorry for all the Q's
yeah it will work fine, most ants like a dry and wet section of the nest
or if you feel like being creative with ur glass covering, u culd put the water well in the middle, and have the chambers around it, wuld need a few bits of glass to make it accesable without opening the whole thing every time tho lol
I got a specialist glass cutter that lives near me miszt.. so the glass is gonna be no problem I never thought about in the middle.. now that does sound like a really good idea Think i shall have a word with him tomorrow and see if he can do it.
if he can cut circular holes in glass sheets, culd ya ask him how much? coz in London is VERY expensive, and i'd b happy to pay postage and packaging if he'd be willing...
Vertical ore horizontal, doesn't matter, the ants make no deal about it. Vertical farms need less space than horizontal but they are a little bit difficult to make.
Hiya Miszt.. Just asked him this morning and he wreckons less than a tenner.. Im gonna get a sheet done either later today or tomorrow and i shall take a pic to show you
Just been down to order.. and he will have it done later.. So pics will be up later this evening.. Was quoted when i was down there between £7-8 i think thats cheap myself..
thats for 20x43 cm with a 7cm diameter hole.. With the sharpness taken off the edges.
Ok here are the pics miszt.. the hole was a little bigger than i had hoped but still very good.. He did say he could make the hole a little smaller not a great deal tho..
Actuall size is just under 43cm x 20cm and the hole is around 10cm Diameter. Edges have been smoothed and total price was £7 Glass isnt marked just a bit smeared where he used water to cut.
and excuse my ytong lol its still in the making.
